Should I Start Archiving My Growing Website?

As my website on true ghost stories is now growing in page amount due to being innundated with fresh articles, I was wondering if the time has now come to prune my website down to around 15 pages and then archive the rest of them as either PDF downloads or Word Docs. I read this tip somewhere, but would like to know what all you webmasters think here.

I think it would be a good idea to just keep the website to a maximum of 15 pages, as it is a real chore having to move up all the old material to make way for the new article pages.

What's wrong with archiving it as html files?

Sounds like you should be looking at content management systems. A simple CMS could do all that for you. You just need to enter the stories in and it will reformat, archive, and display the info the way you want.

Thanks for the advice. I do have Joomla content management with my web hosting package, but I don't know how to use it.

My objective regarding the content I am receiving is to provide an easy method whereby people who post up their ghostly experiences will be able to do it themselves. It is very laborious at present cutting and pasting everything from my email box - and those BR tags I have to edit out from their submissions are sooooo annoying!

So are there any Joomla experts here who could help me?

Oh, and to answer the respondent's query as to what is wrong with HTML articles: well, there is NOTHING wrong with HTML articles. It is just that I read that it is a good idea, for websites that are growing fast, to just put up the main 15 pages of HTML content, then archive the rest as ebook or Word downloads. Do you not think this is a good idea?
