We have a new server up and the website we have on it does not immediately "pop" up when you connect to the server. It often takes 2-3 seconds for the connection to be established. What might cause this?

Once you are on the site, all the pages load quickly. It's just the original connection that seems to take too long.

Here's the IP address so you can check it out yourself:

Your advise is much appreciated!

Hi DanielR, welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com] :)

Quite a few things happen before you are connected to a website. It's difficult to troubleshoot these without a bit more information.

Have you checked whether this might be a DNS problem? DNS Report [dnsreport.com] is a good place to start.

Incidentally, your earlier thread about your setup [webmasterworld.com] might also be the explanation.
