Did something happen in the weekend on the net?

Most of those "OMG things are going up/down/sideways" posts here often seem to be randomness that people are obsessing too much over.

However I have had the strangest thing happen to my site.

It was bopping along OK with steady numbers for years. Daily 2000 to 3000 uniques on the main site and similar on the forum.

Then on Sunday, the traffic to the main site (html pages) halved,(from 2100 Sat to 1200 sun) and its been halved since then. Yet the forum (php) has maintained the same traffic as usual.

I can't see anything wrong with it, the search engines still index for the same terms, the site seems ot be working OK, just 1/2 my visitors and also 1/2 the income from the html pages.

Is it just my site? It is so abrupt, how can I see if anythign has changed. I checked my stats from 2 months back and I can't see any difference except a new host that wasn't there - <snip> which has now taken #1 spot.

I am perplexed, ...

How does the host affect my website and how can I resolve it if it does?

How can it reduce my income, pageviews, does it cache the site on its servers, and if soo would the income remain the same anyway?

It is the biggest for page, but not big for bandwidth?

What can i do to return to normal?

Should I ban the host?

Hey if it makes you feel any better I have around half the traffic today than i did have the past month (ish).

Long weekend - things are slow post a reply on tuesday and see how things are going (monday - bank holiday, uk).
