I want to stat sms service.

i have seen that now days sending sms to a 4 digit number is quite populer like sending joke to 8888 or 6666 or 7827 in india.

i want to knwo from where these numbers are allocated and how i can start such service.

please let me know.

You need to contact your local phone company and purchase a line from them to have a 6 digit text service as you mention, otherwise there are companies who will provide a sms alert service independant of your phone company. Its straight forward.

If you want to start an SMS service, one thing that I recommend is that you get an affiliate agreement with an existing SMS provider, this saves the hassle of working with telcomms companies directly, who often are not interested in start-ups.
