I have a site with a number of video clips on in a flash 8 format is there some way to get them to appear when someone searches under Google video?

Thanks for any advice.

The same way that you can submit and google site map for your site you can also specify a google video site map.

It can be as simple as listing which pages contain playable video, or something more complex as is shown below (taken from [google.com...]

Once you have created your video Sitemap, you can submit it to Google using Webmaster Tools.

Example sitemap:
<urlset xmlns="http://www.sitemaps.org/schemas/sitemap/0.9"
<video:player_loc allow_embed="yes">http://www.site.com/videoplayer.swf?video=123</video:player_loc>
<video:title>My funny video</video:title>

<video:description>A really awesome video</video:description>

As with other google site maps, once you have something ready to submit you can do so through the web master tools.

For more information check out the google video blog entry [googlevideo.blogspot.com...]

To piggy-back on to this topic, how about other ways to get sites crawled by video crawlers?

Are there crawlers other than Google that accept video sitemaps?

Places for video submissions?

Video submission software?

Other then google you've also got a few other big player search engines with video submissions including Alta Vista and Yahoo video search.

Some software that you might want to take a look at includes Video Upload Pro, HeySpread or TubeMogul.

If you do a search for submit videos rss mrss you should come across some more resources that will help you in your search.
