I have been running automated reports for over 5 years and have never had any issues. I only normally run a low volume of reports normally one per night with a low number of keywords being checked. I guess the load on the search engines would be less than a typical office with a few staff using a single connection.
Yesterday for the first time ever when I came into the office and conducted a search on Google I got a message saying that my access had been blocked as my computer was infected by spyware or some other software running automated queries. I can only assume this was my search software.
I guess its time to look into some type of anonymous access.
I’ve been looking at anonymous proxy’s both Free and paid along with software to manage this. I don’t mind paying a reasonable fee to get a good service - this is quite important to my business.
I currently have the trial of ProxyWay Pro (http://www.proxyway.com/) which on paper sounds good but doesn’t seem to work to well in practise - I think the main issue is the reliability of Free Proxy's. So if I could find a reliable paid Proxy Service which worked with this might be an option. In the past I have tried MultiProxy but this appears to have pretty much been abandoned.
I wondered whether anybody has a good solution. A reliable anonymous host or can recommend some good software. I really don’t want to move back to dial up with a dynamic IP addresses.
