There has been some discussion lately within our office regarding site maps. After noticing that several newer pages were never added to our map, we're updating our site map. My question is should only major pages be included in the site map or should all Web pages be included? Additionally, if we have PDF documents that are available online, would be also include these in the site map? Any insight you could give would be much appreciated. Thank you.
If you have a 50 page site for example then you might as well list all of the pages.
If you have a large site with thousands of pages then perhaps list the sections, sub-sections, and popular/important pages or articles.
One idea is to check popular or well ranked sites on the web to see how they have their's set-up. Get a feel of what would be best for your site, your visitors, and the search engines.
