Hi,

This is my first post in this forum so please bare with me.

I was wondering something on how much traffic large websites really drive. For an example say that I have an e-commerce site with 200.000 webpages, if I would get all those indexed in Google, Yahoo and MSN what would you estimate the traffic to be? (I know i need to be more specific but say many of them ranks in 1 page for respective keywords)

Are there anyone else that has very large websites and get loads of traffic, maybe also from different countries?

Well, this just depends on how good your seo skills are. With 200k pages you could get between 5.000 and 40.000 unique users a day... you really can't tell...

We are powering over 30 portals across europe, all with more than 200k pages. The traffic we recieve from Google varies between almost nothing and 50k Users a day, depending on the work that has been put into the site and the potential a customer has regarding Page Rank...

Airportibo: thanks that is really interesting. Is that 50k per day all over 30 portals or per portal? Do you have any information regarding certain countries where you drive extra much traffic?

Also how much of the traffic is driven by Google as to MSN, Yahoo! and so on?

I can say that I have also got a 200k e-commerce site mainly driven only in swedish search engines. Where I have about 15k visitors a day. Why I am wondering is because nearly all my traffic comes from Google and nearly non from the others. I guess Google has extreme advantage in sweden, but I am also interested in driving traffic from other search engines + other markets such as france, uk, germany and so on. Do you have any advice as to that?

50k per day would be our "best" portal, 500 our worst. The english portals get the most users, since they attract a world wide audience, while a french portal is usually only visited by the french.
Almost all of the traffic is driven by Google, so we are making the same experience as you. Just the countries where we invested some money in paid inclusion (Sitmatch Exchange) also recieve a considerate amount of traffic from Yahoo Search powered search engines.
