I know that not many search engines use it, but here is a question that I was asked, and couldn't find the answer to.

Please tell me if it matters that keywords are separated by a semi-colon rather than a comma? Will this make any difference when the spiders read and index the meta keyword tag?

webgator,

The W3C recommendations [w3.org] do not specify the legal values or internal structure of name or content attributes in meta tags, but I certainly wouldn't try it. Use spaces or commas only.
