although users self-reported that they were more likely to click on sponsored links on Google, in practice they were more likely to click on sponsored links on Ask Jeeves and Lycos.

The report seems to suggest this is because Google's ads are somehow less attractive, but isn't this simply because 1) Google's organic results are better, so less visitors use the ads and 2) Lycos and Ask display sponsored links much more prominently and within the main body of the page, and so they will naturally get more clicks, regardless of the surfer's perceptions of the site.

MSN's CTR to paid search was 70% (as reported by iProspect in another study), so Ask is getting >70%

Regardless of the search engine, users spent an average of 45 seconds viewing a web page reached through a sponsored link.

Anyone know what the average page view time of a natural serp page is?
