I'm looking for advice on SEO software. I know that most have bad features like doorway pages or automatic submission etc.

Please let me know your opinion about Traffic Seeker? Is there a better program to make SEO easier?

Thanks,

Hi spietreser

>Is there a better program to make SEO easier?

I don't know any program that makes it easier (some are helpful for analysis), SEO is best done by hand.

I agree. The best way to work on seo is the good old fasioned way. Link pop, keyword density, pr always make a good start. No quick way.

Thanks for your replies. I am aware that the best way to do SEO is manually, because you have control over every aspect and because there are so many things that you need to take into account. Also because every page is different and therefore has different needs. I prefer to do this manually as well.

But can I draw the conclusion that EVERY software out there is not worth buying? (viewing the fact that there are free tools that check keyword density, PR and link popularity.)

>EVERY

Well that's hard to say.

Everyone has there own brand of optimisition, you may find some software helpful, be it off the shelf or customised. If you think something is helpful then it may be worth having. But there is no quick fix software in SEO.

I haven't bought or used any SEO software in over 2 years.

All you need are the free link pop and broken link checkers, Overture keyword tool and then splash out on a very good web stats service. All the rest is done by hand.

It's like comparing a microwaved Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding dinner with your Mum's homecooked dinner - no comparison.

SEO tools are wide and varied in my opinion. you need:

A software tool for developing content QUICKLY - such as a wysiwyg web editor like Front Page or Dreamweaver. Content is king, so get writing IMHO.

A tool for tracking - yes, tracking is soooo important - for moral if nothing else. But really - for ROI measurement.

A credit card - I find this to be an invaluable tool for SEO. Particularly for working with Positiontech and Yahoo Directory. OK - it's not software, but it seems to integrate nicely with online applications :)

WebmasterWorld - invaluable resource tool - I recommend using a tailored Google search on your Intranet which can search WebmasterWorld exclusively. Works much better than WebmasterWorld's own search facility.

Yes - of COURSE we all use tools for SEO. You think we could do this job without them?
