There is so much information out there that is public knowledge. The trick is finding it.

So my question is: Where do you go to find stuff on the following:

--Publically traded companies
--Private companies
--People
--Domains/ Websites

And please, don't just say "type it into google".

I want to know what tools private detectives/ legal librarians use that are available to the average joe at no/ minimum cost.

In the UK we have Companies House who have a website with the names at least of all public companies. For a charge further information may be obtained.

>--Private companies

Probably easiest to track down the official company website.

>--People

Depends on the person. School friend sites, Yahoo, ICQ...

>--Domains/ Websites

Domain registrars like nameboy.
