Phone number placement

Has anybody done phone number placement tests. When I see two phone numbers on top of each other I start out dialing the first part then I dial the 2nd part of the number below. I wonder if other people do this. I would think that it would be better to have your main number away from your fax number. If you have different phone number to different cities seems like it would be better to have them displayed side by side instead of one over the other.

Always side by side ( because what you find yourself doing is what the majority will do ..and is an old "associative" technique to make people think that they read one thing whilst actually reading and acting upon another ) ..Often used deliberately..

>Old ad man's sleight of hand , optical illusion, magicians trick< ..can be useful ..but only if intentional ..

Accidental use results in loss of sales and can come back to bite one ..because customers thought they saw something ..and judges rule that a"reasonable person" might have thought the same ..
