Paid for Drupal on-page optimization, no details received !

SEM company wont disclose complete details. Are we cheated or dumb?

We tied up with a SEM company in our country (one of the best) for one of our websites on-page opmization made using drupal CMS.

Company suggested for few things including.
Keyword Research
Meta Tags Implementation
Google Analytics Setup
Anchor Text Optimization
Footer Navigation
Also included social media optimization submitting articles to digg, blogs in Technorati, embedding videos of YouTube (Dynamic / programming implementations excluded)

We agreed for same and paid a #*$!X US$ amount, and project was completed in aroud 8 mandays.
We cannot find a change in existing code (on demo server) but the project seems to be 100% complete.
We requested for our SEM company to disclose complete details about the ON-PAGE optimization, but they deny as per there policies.

This is a question, we cannot understand.

Are we cheated ?

There are all kinds of red flags. Any real SEO company should tell you exactly what they did and should tell you what they are going to do before they do it. There are no SEO secrets. That list is the list from a bad SEO company. Any time you see "meta tag implementation and footer navigation run. There are a bunch of seo companies out there with a standard SEO setup where they do the same thing for everybody and most of it is busy work that does nothing for you. You were cheated.

There is a way by which you can come to know whether you have been cheated or not.
Do you have original pages (before SEO) was done and the new pages (after SEO) was done. Its very simple, just compare the pages which I think you must have already done.

As already stated, there are no SEO secrets. They should be fully disclosing any changes made to your site, as you are the owner of the site.

But apart from that, it sounds like they did nothing to your site. Did they perhaps obtain new links from other sites pointing to your site?

Nope they did not purchased any new links yet.
