I've been providing a client of mine with Search Engine Marketing services for sometime now. They're very happy with what I'm doing, but are also growing more and more curious about ReachLocal.com. They've heard very good things about ReachLocal from their business friends and I've heard otherwise... I think my clients curiosity is driving them to want to test out one of their sites on the ReachLocal platform to see how they perform.
Now, I've heard ReachLocal can produce results, but they more or less operate in a vacume. They don't reveal all of the platforms they utilize to drive site traffic, don't reveal which keywords they bid on, and never show keyword level performance metrics to the client. Knowing what I know of my client, they'll want to know the nuts and bolts of what's working in their campaign, and what's not. I think they'd go insane not knowing what goes on with ReachLocal.
What I'm trying to figure out is how does ReachLocal drive qualified traffic. Specifically, what platforms do they utilize? SEM, Behavioral Targeting, Remarketing, etc...? If I can figure this out, and can provide my client with these on my own, as well as the metrics behind each channel, I feel I'll save them from the frustration of working with ReachLocal directly. And keep my client very happy. :)
