Does anybody rely on these statistics? Are these stats from Google as well? Any info would be appreciated.

I don't believe that I've been able to find a single reliable service that offers competitor information, even Google.

There are some i'd say but not as accurate as they claim to be. Espionage is quite new and not sure if it can offer a better product like Spyfu, KeywordSpy, SEMRush or Adgooroo just to name a few.
