I am not a novice to SEO, but I would like to utilize software at my full-time job to run reports on keywords and their rankings in the search engines. Years ago I used Web Position and thought it was decent. I wanted to test another product so I downloaded a free trial of Advanced Web Ranking and also a free trial of the newest version of Web Position. The price is comparable for the most part, but I wanted to get feedback from anybody here. What do you use?

I might be leaning towards Advanced Web Ranking because my experience to date with Web Position's customer service has been poor. It took three phone calls and two emails to get one answer. That alone made me think about how worse it might get once I actualy bought the product. Anyway... any advice, opinions? Other software out there?

I'm with Quadrille. I've tried to get away from using as software to check rankings.

But to answer you question...I may or may not have used Web Position software in the past and had no issues, even when contacting their support team.

I think Google webmaster tools are ok, but it seems to be for Google only.

Much of it is. But the key word stuff is probably pretty much applicable to any SE you are optimizing for.

And almost certainly better than all the commercial stuff (which is also probably designed around Google!).

For KW Research, aside from the Google Webmaster, I use Wordtracker and Keyword Discovery. :)
