Article Submission: does it still have an effect?

I saw in last time that effect from article directories is drop down (BL, PR). I think pages with my articles goes deeper and SE do not cash it. Has anybody same problems or it is my fault?

Most articles on article farms have virtually no ranking to pass on, so it's all pretty futile. On the other hand, if you place a link to the farm, you're probably helping them significantly.

The article placed on your own site would probably help you a lot more; though a small number of people do get a small number of referrals from a (very, very) small number of article farms.

Check the farm for stagnant pools, mosquitoes, uncharted diseases and rusting machinery before you even think about placing your offspring in their care.

Press Release submission tends to be much more effective than article submission in my experience.
