301 Redirect to New Domain, Does Age Pass

When 301 redirecting a domain to a new domain, does the original domain age

Not sure if this is in the right forum... however.. here is my question...

I am looking into aquiring a domain strictly because its
a) relevant to my current domain
b) has decent backlinks - dmoz, etc
c) has a good site age

I am curious, if I 301 this domain to my current domain, does site age pass to my new domain?
