links in header!

not sure if this is the right place to ask this..but...i guess this was done for search engine optimization so...

i noticed this bunch of links in the header of a site..along with the meta tags..anyone explain why or what its for?..placing links in the header?

you can use links in the header, i've used the rel and rev and base attributes to define a sequence of pages with some benefit i think ...

haven't ever just listed links like in your example though, not sure if spiders will follow them

I use links for table of contents, section contents and so forth. I think the links you show have been created by someone who misunderstands their usage. LINK is not A and is not intended to be that.
