Is Google thinking VIPS?

Will Google adopt Visual-block Page Segmentation

I guess this is 2 fold, are you familiar with Visual-block Page Segementation? ( a Microsoft 'theory-or fact')

If so, do you think Google is working on a similar schematic? With the new zeal towards link weighting since Big Daddy it seems natural to me that they would be looking at this.
