Search conferences and the increase in non-search related topics

Very interesting I always thought SES was about search but I read this and it says this year it was more about optimizing blogs and podcasts... Did anyone go to SES this year? any thoughts?
I've attended the Search Engine Strategies conference for the past three years, and this year I noticed there was a definite trend in how rich media is affecting the Internet landscape.
