Now that everybody and their uncle has a pixel ad site out there, I'd like to discuss how they are optimizing their sites for search engines.

Basically, they are nothing more than link farms, correct?

What are they doing for SEO?

What SEO tactics would you use if you had one of these sites and wanted it rank in a keyword other than "pixel ads"? For example, if you wanted your pixel site to rank high for the keyword "widget", how would you go about it?

SEO didn't make it a success. General Media Optimization made the million dollars. An old marketing trick: be colorful, get press, draw eyeballs. Advertisers want to be anywhere unique with lots of eyeballs.
