Redundant \ bot

New (to me) UA from Amazon ranges:

"Mozilla/5.0 \\(Windows NT 10.0\\; Win64\\; x64\\) AppleWebKit/537.36 \\(KHTML, like Gecko\\) Chrome/100.0.4896.60 Safari/537.36"

coming in from 35.171.144.152 (35.152.0.0/13) and 54.88.179.33 (54.64.0.0/11) no robots.txt, just requesting /

Heh. Someone didn't pay attention when cutting and pasting. (And also was working from an inexplicable script, because in what language would you need to escape semicolons but not periods?)

I get double \\ when I switch between SubEthaEdit and BBEdit if there was a \ in the original search field, which carries over from one app to the other.

Addendum: And look what I just found in a secondary site’s logs, which I only run once a month:

(The 429 response is formally “too many requests”, but all that matters to me is that they didn’t get in. Hah.)

Edit: Yup, it’s an AWS range.
