My router is blocking a lot of activity lately (intended for my web server) from various 139.144.x.x IP's that resolve to linodeusercontent and binaryedge.ninja (both of which I've seen and blocked for years) but they seem to be listed under an entity I don't believe I've seen before - Akamai Connected Cloud (AS63949).

I can't tell who's renting IP's to who in this case.

My router is also blocking a lot of hits from fwdproxy-?-?.fbsv.net today. I don't allow fecebook to have access to my site. Some of their IP's get a 403, and others are dropped by the router.

Good catch! It appears that Akamai acquired Linode in 2022 [akamai.com] and is currently rolling out their Akamai Connected Cloud service.

Three new enterprise-scale core cloud computing sites across the U.S. and Europe.
Like Akamai’s existing 11 cloud computing sites, the new sites will plug into the Akamai backbone — connecting them to the most distributed edge network on the planet. The new sites, which are expected to be live by the end of Q2 2023, will contain all of the cloud computing services acquired from Linode, the developer-friendly cloud infrastructure provider Akamai acquired in 2022. These also become the template for 10 additional core sites that Akamai plans to roll out across the globe throughout the year.

AKAMAI AS36183
