I just developed a website which is very rich in content. It has more than 18000 pages.
I do not now how to get traffic to the website. I am a newbie and would really like help from kind people here.
Regards,
Ajeet

[edit reason] Removed URLs. [/edit]
If you can still edit your post, you should remove the URLs before the mods do.
Read the Charter while you are at it.....
Some of the sites containing this article look absolutely the same as yours. This lloks like another MFA site which I would add to my bloocklist would it be in my category.
Having said that, the casual observer might well conclude what most everyone who posted so far has concluded. So, sachitroy, does the nature of the site more or less reflect the comments in this thread? It's OK, you can tell us. ;-)
If this is an MFA, and if the assumptions are right that the site is mainly now populated with less than wholly original content, anyone have any bright ideas as to what, if anything, sachitroy might do next? Does the site have ANY value at all that would make it promotable (with some ROI in mind)? Should it be trashed and forgotten? Are there ways the effort can be made useful?
What's your best advice for sachitroy now folks? (Best constructive advice.) :p
1) Rewrite 25 or so of the articles in your own words and submit them to article submission directories with linkbacks to your site.
2) If you have an adsense account with other sites already earning, take all adsense adds off this site. It may drag your earnings on other sites down. (It has been suggested that Smart Pricing is applied on an account-wide basis)
3) Check your log files after a month or so. You may see a trickle of traffic to some pages, (probably from MSN) and the keywords that searchers used to get to you.
4) Take the most "popular" pages and rewrite them in your own words- think what you would want to read if you were searching for these topics. Put adsense back onto those pages you have rewritten.
Optional) Add site-wide footer links to a few of these pages with the keywords in the anchor text.
You may see some of these pages come out of the supplemental results.
Repeat as required.
- Finish highschool first. Oops, sorry!
- Consider a career flipping burgers. Oops, I did it again!
And now for real:
Sach, I advice you to:
1. Think of what was the coolest thing you did for the past few years. Make a website about that. Write your own content. Express your own ideas. Show the world some original thoughts about this subject.
Submit your site at Google.
2. Think of the coolest thing that is happening in your life right now. Make a website about that in the same way you made #1.
3. Think of the coolest thing you could do for the next few years. Make a website about that. Same concept again.
If you succeed in this you will:
a. have a good time
b. learn something as well
c. be the proud owner of some really good
websites that will very likely make better money than 18.000 useless copies of duplicates of existing stuff.
Best of luck,
H.

[edit reason] TOS #4, 19 [/edit]
If you're a programmer, you could write a little program to "massage" the 18K crud pages to make them look less like duplicates to Google. How much you would have to mechanically alter them to avoid the duplicate penalty I don't know, but I bet somebody at WebmasterWorld has experience in that area :-).
Anyways, content is king, but this refers to unique (UNIQUE) content only. Still, it might well be that you'll end up making some dollars in the end, I'm not surprised by anything in the www these days.
