if my keyword is "blah blah" and i am choosing to use h1 tags on the website for my page headings, should the first mention of this keyword be in an h1 tag?

as i currently have a breadcrumb trail with the location of where the user is which features the keyword, THEN, i have the page header in an h1 tag.

should i swap these around to obtain a more search engine freindly page?

many thanks

Which makes more sense and looks better for the user?

I realised I had misread your original post and so edited, but you beat me too it.

Concentrate on what makes the most sense for the visitor. I don't see any problem with having an h1 tag below what is effectively site navigation. It's still the header for your "content".
