Firstly, thanks for any info you may be able to give me.

I run quite a large ecommerce site that has a successful affiliate program, since mid last year one of my affiliates has been using a 302 redirect to my site with an affiliate link.

At first I thought great, he's ranking well, alongside me and whatever happens I get the sale, but as of late he's gone up and i'v gone down, way down.

After reading the article about 302 hijacking, Im now wondering whether google may class this as duplicate content or treat this domain as a better one of my own and thus rate it higher, obviosuly im paying the affiliate and don't want this to happen.

Ideas?

;)

Do a site search in Google. Check the results. If you see any other domains there besides your own, there is a good chance that a 302 is in place and that there are problems.

site:www.example.com

If your affiliate has moved up and you've moved down, there is a strong chance that his 302 is having a negative impact on your domain based on all of the information that is available on the 302 Pagejacking issues.

Just done the check, there is a hell of a lot of my pages cached there...

...On that Note, please Google, hurry up and deep crawl again, I need to know how a few tweaks iv done this month will do....

...So im still doing well with deep indexed pages..

Any more thoughts?

On what? Did you find your affiliate's URI in the mix when you did the site search? If so, that is most likely one of the problems.

They weren't among the links on site:www.mysite.com but can a 302 cause any major problems for SEO, such as duplicate content.

Is it better to warn them of doing it?
