I have a .net site that is performing well, and is becoming more and more well known.
I have now just managed to obtain the same domain name but with the .com extension.
I have a couple of other .net sites that are just parked at the moment and are just held until I develop them. At the moment if you type in those domain names they redirect to the main .net site.
Now I have the .com site, (which I only bought to protect the name, incase people 'forgot' it was a .net) I was going to do the same on that site - just have it direct to the .net site.
Having read many posts on here, I'm really unclear on things like 'duplicate content' and how redirects work and the effect they can have on a site.
I just wanted to clarify, that by redirecting the .com site to the .net site I'm not going to harm that site in the eyes of google etc? I think there are different types of directs, and don't really understand the difference. Can anyone advise?
sorry, a really long message for a pretty small question...
