Ok...questions about backwards links...asked 100 times and will likely be asked 1000 more...by the end of the month no less :).

Seriously though, when I check?domain.com or?www.domain.com versus link:www.domain.com I get different backlinks. I've done about 30 websites and I'm trying to learn about SEO to make them as beneficial to clients as possible.

Why is it that some of the sites appear in one of the searches and not the other and vise versa?

Thanks,

Khem

Off the top of my head I don't recall the exact details of what is going on, but I can tell you that when you check your backlinks in Google that you should do the following:

www.your-domain.com -site:www.your-domain.com

This way it will search for "everything" linking to your site with your site being excluded.

Hope this helps.

link:www.example.com only shows back links with PR4 or higher.

www.example.com as a search will show all instances of the query on a page, whether it is an actual link or just text.

Not at the moment Hennatron.
Google are showing backward links with no pr for some strange reason, but has shown pr3 sites on the backlinks too for sometime.
