Recommended SEO Conferences?

Does WebmasterWorld.com sponsor conferences?

I'm interested in attending a Search Engine Strategies Conference by SearchEngineWatch.com. Has anyone attended and have a recommendation?

Upon joining WebmasterWorld a couple weeks ago, there was a mention about receiving discounts on their conferences. How do I find more information?

Great forum! Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Has anyone attended and have a recommendation?

A few of us here speak there.

What are you looking to get out of the conference?

Are you looking for a summary of important industry information in a compact form? Are you looking for information more applicable to corporate environments? Do you want to talk to a lot of representatives for vendors?

SES is very good for all of that. Lots of parties as well.

Thanks!

Any idea when/if this conference will be hosted on the West Coast?

SES is very good for all of that. Lots of parties as well.

Don't forget Ad-tech for the parties. With lots and lots of marketing people at Ad-tech, the expense accounts tend to be very large.

Of course, the ultimate party is Pub Con. 3 days of non-stop drinking, networking and talking SEO/SEM.

Damm, really regretting I missed the last one now.

Man, you guys gatta have one in the states... maybe in washington DC. We have a brand new convention center with no one to use it.

I just doubt my boss would ever pay to send me to europe.

I went to Ad-Tech. I am not sure if I particuarlly liked it, as I didnt find anything new or interesteding - with the exception of one company. I wouldnt recommend anyone going to Ad-Tech if they had to pay for it or had other important things to do.

SES is an excellent introduction to the industry, with attention to both organic SEO and to SEM. If you want a quick and structured deep immersion, it's an excellent place to go.

At AdTech, I've only attended the tradeshow and the keynotes... not the conference sessions, so my view may not be accurate... but AdTech seems to be almost exclusively about marketing, mostly on a corporate level, and I don't believe really touches on SEO at all. It was a good place to get a sense of some ad networks and SEM companies.

Haven't yet attended a PubCon, but I hear it's a great experience. I would guess that it helps to have hung around WebmasterWorld for a while before attending. My guess is too that it's more advanced and for "hands-on" people than the other two conferences.

How about a comparison from those who know....

Robert is correct. IMO SES is great for corporate folks looking to find out how to SEO/SEM.

For the hands on nuts and bolts, for the folks that are in the trenches doing the actual work, it's pubcon - the webmasterworld conference. (I've been to both SES and pubcon. It's unlikely I'll miss another pubcon).

The last pubcon was held in February. Check some of the posts around that time for comments. I believe you'll find rave reviews.

Just do some searches for things like "pubcon orlando", "webmasterworld pubcon" and see the rave reviews of Webmsterworld conferences.

If ya want to learn about SEO/SEM, what people are doing, and in some cases how they do it, the WebmasterWorld conferences are the best ones to go to for networking with people in the trenches of SEO/SEM, content publishing, building sites, and affiliate marketing.

Attended my first SES recently. Loved the parties and the "feel" definitely seemed geared corporate.

The attendees of pubcon are often site owners or hands on type people and many are highly experienced in what they do, there is so much more "spirit" there. If I were forced to choose between SES and Pubcon, I would definitely go with the latter.
