Folks,

We are 25 years old company working in the B2B sector and have a very old domain about 15 years which is the main website and the identity of our company. The website has enough visibility in the search engine.

To survive in this competitive market, our company looking to offer more advanced service levels to some selective audiences and also rename the company name. That’s why we have purchased the new domain and set a new website.

So, the questions are:

Scenario 1:
“Does it good to redirect entire domain from old to new? And what would be the effect of it?”

Scenario 2:
“Redirect some old URLs can be an ideal option?”

Scenario 3:
“To avoid the redirection.”

Please help with brief details and the references if possible.

rename the company name.

Don't know why, but this is none of my business; in that case, a redirect of all the URLs from the old site to the new one would make sense, if this is only a matter of domain name change. But, do not redirect all the URLs to the root of the new site.

If both sites have the same pages, and structure, a 301 redirect, shouldn't affect your ranking, but expect a couple of weeks , (or months) of fluctuation and shuffling, the time Google recalculate all the scoring of your pages.

Important, NEVER release the old domain name. Keep it, and keep the redirections in place, forever.

Unrelated , but take the opportunity to make your new site HTTPS.

If it is working well now, why make any changes other than upgrading your existing site? There is that old saying: If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well, Is there any negative impact to do so or to keep the old domain?
