I am New here, I wish to promote a job site, and need help in understanding how can I get more people to post jobs to my website. Can someone help me with basic link building.... which works?
I'm a big believer in advertising. Research the rates at the various ad networks, including Facebook and LinkedIn.
There are also the free classifieds like Craigslist & Angieslist. I've received emails saying "hi, I saw your ad and thought you'd also be interested in placing an ad at our site."
As far as link building, maybe someone else can suggest some current techniques that work.

Dear Keyplyr... Thanks a lot for your reply. I am looking for free linkbuilding...
Facebook promotions we are already doing... Craigslist I have tried.... once will explore it further Angieslist -- not tried yet but will explore
For Free Linkbuilding earlier we used to do: - Directory submissions - Article Postings - answers
But post penguin update we have stopped indulging in these... Now I am trying to figure out more ways which are legit and will not throw us in the penguin or panda update tunnel.

You will definitely get two links back. However, the main point is this; will the two links provide value to your marketing efforts? Does your comment provide value to the end user (likes, shares, pins etc will demonstrate this in some way? What about the reputation of the website where the links are coming from, are they reputable and been known for catering to their user's needs? Who is linking to them (where your links are coming from) et al
