Well this is currently a big debate in the SEO industry as everyone probably knows, Google seem to hate webmasters who pay for backlinks on other websites. I can't really judge, I have paid for links before.
What are your thoughts on this?

Here's a thread and video [webmasterworld.com...] which pretty much sets it out.
If you value the long term for your site, it's best not to do it, imho.

it's very risky move to buy backlinks at present time. but a backlinks still work good to youtube videos. I bought several websites with 100 000 + indexed pages and got nice results. If somebody need website with thousands relevant indexed page - drop a line

Generally is not a good idea. Any gain seen will be short term, if at all.

Not all paid links are bad. I pay for links on trade association sites, chamber of commerces, the bbb, a number of charities and local organizations. Can anyone show how these links will hurt me?
