Hi,

I am new to this forum and to SEO work. We have a new website listed. It originally was called something different, which is now being forwarded. We hope to put up another completely different site on 15k at some point, but won't get to it for a few months.

Yahoo and Google had found it, but we have not done any link work on either site at this point. My question has to do with whether or not we should keep the forwarding, or let it show a 404 error. I am concerned that the major search engines will spider us and think we are spamming because we have forwarded the domain. Any thoughts on what we should do at this point?

ODP is a real challenge, because we are in the queue, but not yet reviewed, so there is no way to tell them the domain name has changed, as of yet.

Don't know what they will do when they see the forwarding. Can't get an answer for this question from the ODP forum.

Has anyone else encountered these challenges?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Do a site search on 301 redirects.
