Would really value comments about url construction from an SEO aspect. I have a domain with the two most important keywords for my site.

www.widgets-hotels.com
(Widgets is a city name)

Therefore which would be best:

1. www.widgets-hotels.com/widgets-hotels-near-to-*****.html

"****" is any geographical location in that city.

or, go for the shorter option, forget the "widgets-hotels" and just have:

2. www.widgets-hotels.com/near-to-****.html

Neither. You've already got the "hotels" word in your domain name, and "near to" just makes the visitor get suspicious and think "for a given definition of 'near'". Why not simply

www.widgets-hotels.com/piccadilly
www.widgets-hotels.com/tower
www.widgets-hotels.com/university

et cetera?
