Is a 302 redirect gonna hurt my domains?

Hi,

I have a domain that I built from ground up and is doing like number 11 with lots of traffic for a good keyword search but that site is dead. It was a project that I left behind and I do not want to continue.

I want to transfer traffic from that domain to my current domain where my business resides. Currently my server admin just did a 302 direct to my current domain as the landing page but I don't know if it is illegal or it will hurt both domains?

Else if I put many links to the home site, I've heard it would be like a doorway page.

What should I do? Any other advice as it really seems like a waste of good traffic. Both the sites have a similar topic.

according to the protocol 302 means "Found" and is intended for temporary redirects.

more importantly you should read the part in the linked interview where MC specifically talks about 302 redirects.
