Do .net.au domain names receive exact match bonus?

.net.au exact match bonus

I've recently registered a exact match .net.au domain name (e.g. bluewidget.net.au) that doesn't seem to benefit from any exact match bonus in G. Under closer inspection I've noticed that many .net.au's don't seem to rank for the exact match term or phrase while the .com.au's do. Can someone shed some light on this subject for me?

I can't speak for your country but in the US there is, arguably, no difference between .net and .com. I can't see there being a difference in Australia. There is a slight benefit to the domain containing the KW. Again, this would be slight.

The challenging part of SEO however is that all the rules are able to be disproven. :-)

The TLD should not really matter in this example. I truly believe that rankings are not happening for other reasons.

I'm pretty sure they would receive the bonus (and I think it should definitely be described as you have - an exact match bonus) just as a com.au. Although saying that I've only ever worked with com.au for SEO
