I know that is a quite basic question, but it just struck me as I was writing a post, how is anyone gonna even find their way here?

I have a potentially profitable niche that I can write about for eons everyday if I so choose, which I want to monetize with Adsense.

And I have not been able to find Blogger / Blogspot specific SEO info here. I imagine it's here but it's not coming up as far as I can tell in the searches I do.

well for one thing, if you think you're going to have that great a site, don't do it on blogspot. At least get your own domain and hosting, and put up a wordpress site.

but the question is the same as for any website. How to get traffic is the million dollar question.
quick tipe: register on all the blog sites like technorati etc, and ping them (e.g. pingomatic). Get involved in the community of blogs around your topic and comment regularly at those sites (leaving your sig when you do).

other than that, take a visit to the link development forum here for lots of ideas about getting links.

Thanks for the answer callivert. I don't necessarily think I'm gonna have that great of a site, which is kind of why I want to put up no capital for it by having it on Blogspot. I just wanna see a couple people click on ads, and then if those ads pay out the higher dollars I'm thinking they should that might motivate me to amp it up or take it beyond Blogspot.

The problem with blogging is all the writing! Right?

Your point about registering on blog sites and getting involved in the niche community is well taken, as is your point about visiting the link development forum.

Thanks again.

I've seen many Blogspot blogs perform exceptionally well and that is almost exclusively because of the high quality of the content within the articles. Great blogs gain links naturally from their readers (they have no need for using any link building scheme to manipulate their link popularity).

Like the previous answer, a blog is in fact a web site. There are optimizable web page elements such as Blog Title and Description, article titles, there's different ways to emphasize your keyphrases (bold, italic, underline), places to put link labels (which in fact become part of a fairly powerful internal linking structure), you can RSS feed the articles all over the world etc. etc.

Take the time to play with the tools you have at hand and if your content is indisputably unique, written authoritatively and unquestionably important the search engine will eventually catch on to that. Just continue to regularly craft the highest quality articles within your power.

Find other blogspot blogs that do well and study what they're doing.
