My Site is PR3/4 after about 2 years now... In the very beginning i added a CMS on a subdomain for articles and the like....
I am beginning to think that is not such a hot idea, since the subdomain doesnt seem to benefit much from the PR/links of the main domain and doesnt seem to see much action traffic wise (bc i havent been link building for the sub)....
What are your guys opinions on this? Should i move the CMS to the main domain? If So, what are the repercussions of that move?
Thanks,
Karim
But Cool URIs Don't Change [w3.org].
In other words, even with matching folder names on the new domain, and a neat 301, there is ALWAYS a down side to moving - even if it's just one link you've lost to the old domain.
Think carefully and compare gains / losses with the move.
But certainly put all new stuff on the main domain, and start making the minor adjustments so that just one site-wide 301 will do the trick. Give the SEs time to assimilate the changes to maindomain; by then you'll have an article or two whose stats you can check and compare.
