Hello everybody, I got a question. I regularly post my blog articles on a Dutch social newssite not unlike Digg. But when I do that often the Social News Site ends up in the Google Top ten for my keywords instead of the direct link to my website. This happens almost all the time and is beginning te bug me. Can anyone explain how they manage that and what I can do about it?

Regards,

Robert

Most likely that social news site is getting crawled first and then your post is crawled and you're the duplicate.

Post your blog article and make sure Google crawls it first...then post 8 hours or a day later to the social news site and see if that fixes the problem.

Good suggestions from Bhartzer.

As well, it may not be all bad to have some of the social news sites links on the 1st SERP. In some cases, this looks like the genuine 3rd party endorsement many sites need. However, if of course you intend to have the same content on your site - bhartzers suggestion makes great sense.
