Not sure about SEO.

Here's my dilemma - my partners and I recently acquired a small company with a very unique and patented product. We have been getting nothing but positive feedback from anybody who has seen the product. We are pretty confident that given the right marketing strategy the product has a huge potential.
We are on a very tight budget, since we just spent our savings on the company purchase plus we acquired monthly fees for warehouse rental, utilities and stuff.
I doubt that SEO will help us in marketing this product since it's quite unique and nobody is searching for anything like it. So we would first need to concentrate on brand awareness.
The product is widely used as a gift mostly for women. One idea would be to try to get some free publicity by sending out press releases to women's magazines. Any other ideas?
Could anyone help on choosing a third-party company that could help us with our marketing strategy that we would pay based on results, since we don't have that much cash right now?

Thanks!

It is a product then you can sell online. Setup an online shop, do some SEO and make it on top make this task in parallel to your offline sales.

Online doesn't harm, if not your unique keyword then make the keyword generic.. etc etc...

PM me for more suggestions.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld. Sounds like you just want to pay on commission, so you might want to find work at home mom type sites and see if they would sell your products for a commission on their website.

You might want to give our affiliate and advertising forum a thorough read to understand about affiliate marketing. [webmasterworld.com...]

I am sorry but I think I wasn't clear enough.
We have set up a Web site with shopping cart software. The design looks pretty nice and professional and we have done some SEO on it. We also set up affiliate programs on ShareASale and ClixGalore. We have about 80 affiliates signed up with us in two weeks the program has been up. We actually have some sales occasionally (none from affiliates so far). We get quite a few of returning customers and word-of-mouth referrals. We do believe that it has a great potential and just needs to be taken to the next level.
