Adding Content from Article Directories

My website has over 100 pages, including my own written articles. Will adding content using article directories, does it have any advantage in terms of SEO? like my website will be more likely to be found?

Unlikely.

Chances are that the source will figure, while your pages will be seen as duplcate content. And letīs face it, what are you adding to the web?

Much better to go for nique content of your own and donīt bother with duplicating whatīs already there.

Because I read somewhere in the Internet that so that your website will not only be more likely to be found but you can also earn more money using Google Adsense, you can utilize articles in Article Directories so your website will be larger because content is KING.

So in other words, there is no truth to that?

Don't duplicate your own unique content and give it away to others for free. )

If you want to write seperate promotional articles and distribute them to article sites, that probably won't hurt you and might even help a bit. But of course the article will need some value on its own...

No. I mean getting articles from Article Directories (not I submitting to directories). Is it true that I can get more Adsense earnings throught that?

I would avoid this- like quadrille said. SE's don't like sites with a lot of dupe content. Maybe add 1 or 2 articles if they are helpful to your sites visitors.

I see. As of now, I have around 100 articles of my own and 200 articles of others gathered from article directories since March this year (I add one article from article directories a day).

Since there's a duplicate content penalty, does it harm my overall website ranking? I noticed this, although it could be coincidental, that before my homepage PageRank was 4, but since I've been adding those duplicate articles per day, the PageRank became 3. Is that what you call duplicate content penalty, even though the duplicate contents is only in article section of my website?
