hello,

i am a PHP developer and i created a LOT of websites for others as a freelancer in the last three years. i have decided it is the moment i launch a website of my own. My clients always took care of the marketing of their websites so i'm new to this domain.

WHAT I CAN DO:
1. create a website with unique content
2. create CMS for website with SEF URL

WHAT I WANT:
1. get traffic on the website i create
2. get income from the site.

where should i start with this?

can someone point me to steps that need to be taken care of when building such a website?

Welcome to webmasterworld :)

Will you be making the site for the sake of having one? Will the site be needed?

I hope you understand the reason why I am asking you. What do you have in mind?

Hab,

the website i want to build will contain information of interest for the general public.

why i want to start the website?
1. because i have free time
2. i have content that is of interest to the public
3. i want to combine 1 & 2 to get an income out of that.

thanks,
adrian

I once read, here on WebmasterWorld, a check-list for a successful website.
It was something like:
a) Add one page of new content every day
.... and 26 other list items.

I really-really want to find that post again. I just searched for it for the last hour.. but no good result. If someone remembers / or gives a link to this particular thread, you would find this very-very useful.

But wait:
Last-minute find :)

(seems a lot of people bookmarked it on del.icio.us)

Have a nice reading!
