Week-end SE Traffic.

What are some regular SE traffic patterns?

Can anyone give me feedback as to the general amount of difference between week-day and week-end traffic from SE's?

We are fairly new and I'm just trying to gage what is a normal pattern.
For instance, is a week-end day "one half" "one quarter" or maybe instead "twice that" of a week-day?

You should expect about 50% traffic on Saturdays and 60% on Sundays when compared to average traffic from Monday thru Friday!

It is also going to be relative to your product and/or service. Some sites do extremely well over the weekend, some don't. If you are promoting a brick and mortar business with normal business hours, expect your weekend traffic to decline. If you are promoting something for kids, expect weekend traffic to be on the upward scale.

We are in the travel and tourism sector and most weekends experience a 30 percent drop in traffic.

On my site I get about 50-70% on weekends, followed by a surge to 130% on Monday, all compared to the Tuesday to Friday average.

My site has a small increase in traffic starting Friday evening and running through Sunday. I also notice a higher conversion rate over the weekends.

Much more variance via hours than i expected. early working hour mornings when i expected people to be on the web at least checking email (and hoepfully distracted enough to make a search) is much lower than expected.

It seems that peak hours are late lunch times but only slow deterioration from there-on, with evenings seeming to have a substantive level of activity showing a substantive number of liesure time users

Japananese seem to be more 24 a day people, with good numbers till surfing at midnight and the wee early morning areas.

I guess we never realised how few surfed at midnight from the US and other places as our own server logs are influenced by a very international readership.

I would not be suprised if the data would be a little bit more in equilibrium with broadband set-ups becoming more popular (july 2001 data).
