Looks like Google's the big winner with a couple of new folks in the shopping engines:

Well done for WebmasterWorld but have you read this:

Under AllTheWeb, why they came second to Google on Outstanding search engine:
* Google still rules, but the runner up [AllTheWeb] is gaining.
* Best interface, best news search by far, easiest to use
* Big, fresh, variety of options and better relevance than Google
* Both Teoma and AllTheWeb have created fantastic systems and deserve some recognition.

... and then Google win best news search engine section? Is this a joke or a serious mistake?

Beats me! Fast cannot have the best news search by far and end up as number 3 in the same category! It simply doesn`t make sense.

Proud of you Brett! Your vision is second to none and WebmasterWorld remains one of my favourite, daily stops on the internet! Certainly well deserved! :)

> Well I don't see it as being aobut me, it's about the community. I could fall of the planet tomorrow and there would 5-6 able bodies that could take my place.

Take that bow, Brett -- good communities have good leaders, and you've helped guide this one to its success.

Let me clarify. That's not our comment about FAST, "Best interface, best news search by far, easiest to use." That was a comment from one of the people who likes FAST. Many, many more people when voting for news search engine said they favored Google for news search. Probably best if I take the comment out, since it's clearly confusing folks :)

To add to andreasfriedrich's

<<Congrats Brett and all the admins and moderators who make this place work as smoothly as it does! >>

Yeap over the years I've visited many forums and various places that I'd rather not mention :)

But very few do I ever bother going back to...

I guess I'll be at WWW for a long time!

Thanks, sorry Special Recognition to all who work & contribute.

Congratulations Brett, admins, mods, and everyone here. I'm sure if there were more awards like this WebmasterWorld would win them as well.

Take that bow, Brett -- good communities have good leaders, and you've helped guide this one to its success.

Now that's a statement worth reading twice.

Without the leadership the community would be where the "thugs" hang out.

As it stands - WebmasterWorld is where the best hang out...

following the lead of a master heehee ;)

Congratulations to Brett and to the rest of the long term regulars.

This forum sets standards that can be used as an example for everyone. This award confirms that. I boast about this place to my friends, not about the content(they glaze over), but about the inclusive and supportive culture you have developed. It's a place I am proud to be associated with.

Content is king, and this is one of the few places you can find real world answers to your problems from people who are in the same boat as you.

Great work all.
