Software to Create an RSS Feed

Is there a software package designed to scan a site and create an RSS feed from what it finds?

Or is my only option going to be a Perl/PHP script.

There's a lot of software packages written to do this. The forum charter [webmasterworld.com] forbids us discussing them.

But have a search using the terms "web scraper" [google.com] or "web scraper rss" [google.com] to get an initial list together. Also, have a look at Source Forge [sourceforge.net], where you might find more.

I assume we're not allowed to mention any of these software tools because there are so many of them, and allowing discussion would be an invitation to spam.

No wonder I couldn't find anything --I never thought of using the term "web scrapper."
