My site has both RSS and Atom feed links as text, so the user can choose, depending on preference. I would like to change the text links to icons, but as far as I can tell, both methods use the same icon. Any suggestions?

I don't know that a separate Atom logo was ever finalized. I remember several were proposed. I doubt anyone would even recognize it if there were one.
The Wikipedia page for Atom uses the RSS logo, so I'd probably stick with that.

I can't use the RSS logo for Atom, because then the page would have two identical logos and no one could tell which was which. I've seen logos that looked like an atom. I suppose people might figure out what it was.
I just can't believe I am the first person to have this issue.

Usually you'd put feed options in the header where nobody would see it anyway.
Choose one format and offer one feed. Nobody knows the difference between RSS and Atom these days anyway. A feed is a feed to most of them.
