rss, what's the chance a competitor adds their site?

if i were to take feeds from somewhere and upload them to a "news" portion of my site.. what are the odds a competitor could get in there and add their junk?
stupid question i'm sure.. i've only heard of rss recently within the past few months and have never paid much attention to the term

It depends on where the rss originates. If your competitor has access to what's getting in to the rss file, then yes, it's possible.

is there any way to know if someone (other than the owner of the rss in question) has access to add their details to an rss feed?
