rss post feed in sidebar

how do they do that?

in the sidebar on [deleted] they (reasonably tastefully) show a couple of rss feeds from offsite sites including the nytimes.

anyone know how they do that or any other non-in-your-face rss feed method?

Great link, I'll look at it in detail later.

At the moment I use a third party widget to display a feed and there is always lag as the service provider only updates the feed once or twice a day. I have never been happy using an external provider like this but it is a good way to get a feed displayed quickly if you don't know PHP.
